Staying healthy can be a challenge for college students, especially during November. The first round of colds and flu hitting campus, emotional stress of mid-term exams/grades, and irregular sleep and eating schedules all converge. Students’ schedules are full with academic and extra-curricular activities, including many exams and papers that will be due before Thanksgiving. Roommate challenges become more clear. Juniors and seniors are applying for internships, jobs, and graduate school. Mid-term grades are available on the Web for the students, which often prompts renewed focus on studying. Students can also feel excitement and/or anxiety about going home for Thanksgiving. Finally, financial stress may hit with the coming of the holiday season.
