The majority of Gustavus students are enrolled in a declining balance meal plan for making food purchases in the Market Place. Money in these accounts may be used through May 31, 2008. Remember, these options were created to accommodate the eating habits of the majority of Gustavus students. If your student has a history of being a very big eater or buys a latte twice a day, they may always be spending more than their meal plan. If your student has a history of being a light eater, they may have money remaining. The following information was recently sent to students from the Director of Dining Service:
“At this point in the semester, it is a good idea for those of you with meal plans to take note of your account balance the next time you visit a cashier and compare it with the matrices of suggested balances located near the tray area in the Market Place. These matrices are also available online at the Dining Service website; click your meal plan option and view the corresponding matrix:
Meal Plans
In the next few weeks I will be sending your students information about plan selection for 2008-09.” It is important that your student watch for this information in early May. We ask that you send your student to Dining Service with any questions about their current meal plan or options for the next academic year.
