Students interested in learning more about the Greek community at Gustavus should plan to attend one of the upcoming recruitment events:
The fraternity “Wing Off” will take place Wednesday, April 11th from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. in Eckman Mall (in case of rain, event will be held in the Campus Center). Each fraternity will have a different type of chicken wing to sample and there will be a vote for the best wing.
The sorority progressive dinner will be held on Thursday, April 12th beginning at 6:30 p.m. The event begins in the Courtyard Cafe and is followed by the opportunity to visit each of the chapters. Women should sign up in advance at the Information Desk in the Campus Center.
In addition, individual groups will be hosting numerous events throughout the month of April. Fraternity and Sorority Life at Gustavus has been a tradition for over 100 years. Gustavus currently recognizes five fraternities and six sororities. Four of these groups are national (multiple chapters across the country), and seven are local (existing only at Gustavus). In order to join or “pledge” a fraternity or sorority, students must achieve at least sophomore standing and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
