Promoting a Healthy and Safe Culture of Involvement

hazingAs the fall semester gets underway, Gusties will have the chance to get involved on campus.  Whether it be a student organization, athletic team or fine arts program, participation in these organizations represents a great opportunity for students to explore new interests, connect with peers and develop leadership skills.  Gustavus is committed to maintaining an environment where students may participate in these organizations without fear of hazing or risk to their wellbeing.

Parents can be a crucial ally in keeping our environment a safe and positive one.  Our hazing policy can be found here, and our silent witness program, which can be used by students or the wider campus community (including parents) to report incidents of hazing, can be found here.  If you believe your student is either being hazed or hazing others and immediate action is needed, please contact Gustavus Campus Safety at (507) 933-8888.  If you have questions or would like more information feel free to contact Scott Broady, Assistant Director of Campus Activities at (507) 933-7597 or sbroady@gustavus.edu Thank you for your help in promoting a healthy and safe Gustavus.
