November is the time students select classes for January Term and Spring Semester. Students are often their own best advisers by taking advantage of the numerous resources to guide this process. The professor of the First Term Seminar advises those students until the student declares a major. When declaring a major, the student will choose an adviser from that department. The interactions vary depending on the relationship between student and adviser, but advisers are required to review the class selections before a student registers for the next semester. Students also can consult with other students in their major, the Career Center, and the Academic Advising Center. Juniors and seniors should check their own degree audit, a Web-based password-protected system, to verify they are meeting requirements for graduation.
