Friday, August 29th is move-in day for new students. Please allow extra time to get to campus, and be aware of detours in and around St. Peter. Make note of the following traffic instructions:
Due to a detour associated with road construction on MN State Highway 169 (both North and South bound) between St. Peter and Le Sueur, MN scheduled to be in place until Sept. 1, 2014, we need to make adjustments to Move-In Day directions. The directions in earlier communications have changed substantially so please read the the new ones below carefully. Click here for a complete, color map of the campus and surrounding area with specific and easy-to-follow directional arrows.
Note that students and families coming from the NORTH will enter the College at the Sunrise Drive/Grace street entrance and traffic coming from the SOUTH will enter via the Jefferson Avenue entrance. The College Avenue entrance will be routed as EXIT ONLY from campus so please do NOT plan on driving up College Avenue to enter campus. Attempting to enter on College Avenue will result in you being re-routed to either Jefferson or Sunrise/Grace entrances.
Don’t forget to bring your door hanger sent in the previous mailing but disregard the written directional instructions on it.
Pittman/Sohre Residents: After unloading at your hall, exit campus via College Avenue and park in the 7th Street lot or the Arboretum lot.
Norelius Residents: After unloading at your hall, park in the Norelius lot.
If, by good luck, the road construction project has ended and the detour is no longer in place, we will still plan on using the above plan for Move-In Day. Thus, even if there is no detour, traffic coming from the North should take Broadway and turn onto Sunrise Drive to use the Sunrise/Grace entrance and families coming from the South should use the Jefferson entrance.
Our apologies for the last minute changes. We can’t wait to meet all of you!
