Summer Servant Leaders Posted on May 1st, 2006 by

This summer numerous Gustavus students are working at a summer camp or with another non-profit organization. Through an application and interview process, 31 of these students were selected to participate in the Summer Leadership Program, sponsored by the Center for Vocational Reflection. This reflection program recognizes students who are making the choice to spend their summer in the service of others, and taking an income cut at the same time. Students apply for the year-long program that includes workshops and group meetings, retreats, and a banquet. As a participant, students receive a $1,500 stipend for the summer. This stipend makes it possible for many of the participants to follow their hearts into a summer of service. For more information about the program, go to Servant Leadership.
