Changes to Health Insurance Billing Posted on August 1st, 2006 by

In the past, students either paid cash or billed their college accounts for charges incurred during visits to the Health Service, and we provided them with fee statements to submit to their own health insurance companies. Effective this
fall, Health Service will bill your student’s health insurance company directly. Any remaining charges will be the student’s responsibility and billed to their college account. If the student does not want their insurance billed for a particular office visit, they may continue to pay cash for the visit.

There will be no change in the quality or type of services provided by the nurse practitioners and staff of Health Service. Office visit, laboratory test, and immunization costs will continue to be reasonably priced and you should see no significant increase in cost for these services. Students will need to present their health insurance cards at every office visit. Our hope is to simplify the insurance and billing process for our students. If you have questions about billing of insurance, please contact Health Services at (507) 933-7630.
