In partnership with the Science Museum of Minnesota, Gustavus invites you to a public lecture on Thursday, March 10, at 7 p.m. at the SMM Auditorium to meet and hear Rydell Professor Robert J. Lang, Ph.D., physicist and one of the foremost origami artists and theorists in the world. His presentation is titled “From Flapping Birds to Space Telescopes: The Mathematics of Origami.” A reception at the Education Commons will follow the talk. Robert Lang is the second Rydell Professor at Gustavus this year. The Drs. Robert E. and Susan T. Rydell Professorship is a scholar-in-residence program designed to bring Nobel laureates and similarly distinguished scholars to the campus as a catalyst for enhancing student learning and teaching.
