Gustavus Adolphus College is a residential institution. This means ALL students are required to live on-campus all four years. As the college does not have enough beds to house all students, each year a limited number of students are granted permission to live off-campus, with the remaining students residing in College-owned residence halls, apartments, or houses. Students MUST receive permission from the Residential Life Office to live off-campus, which is granted based on the student’s housing priority number. Applications to live off campus must be received by the Residential Life Office by March 14. Students should NOT sign a lease until they have been granted permission to live off campus. A signed lease does NOT guarantee off-campus housing, and students will be responsible for paying rent, subletting, or breaking the lease if they are not granted permission to live off-campus. Many students also do not understand all the expenses involved with living off-campus besides rent, including utilities and food. Applications for permission to live off-campus are due to the Residential Life office by March 13, 2013.
