Voting Information for Gusties Posted on October 10th, 2014 by

I voted for blog

This year, Minnesota voters will head to the polls to decide a U.S. Senate seat, all of Minnesota’s eight U.S. House seats, as well as governor, attorney general, secretary of state, state auditor, and all Minnesota State House seats. The 2014 election will also include many county commissioners, county sheriffs, county attorneys, auditors, treasurers and recorders.

In preparation for state and local elections on November 4, the College Republicans and College Democrats have been active on campus promoting candidates and encouraging students to become educated and engaged in the political process. The groups are sponsoring several events and encouraging students to vote, either in advance by absentee ballot or by taking a free shuttle service to the polls in St. Peter on voting day.  Polls are open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on November 4 and residential students vote at the St. Peter Community Center.

STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO COMPLETE A SIMPLE VOTER REGISTRATION FORM ONLINE, IN ADVANCE.  This saves time on election day.  The deadline to register in advance is 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14th.  To complete this process, direct your student to www.mnvotes.org.  All Gustavus students will likely need to register or re-register to vote since this must be done each time an address changes.
