MAYDAY! 2017 Posted on April 17th, 2017 by

What Would You Do?: Mass Surveillance and the Citizen is the theme of Gustavus Adolphus College’s 37th annual MAYDAY! to be held May 3

The conference will consider the obligations of citizens to check the overreach of government power in our information age. Speakers with a wide range of perspectives will examine the boundaries of government power and secrecy in times of peace and war and the role of citizens in making the government transparent and accountable. The day features a morning keynote address by Bruce Fein a constitutional lawyer, former assistant deputy attorney for the Reagan administration, and attorney for the Edward Snowden family and an afternoon panel discussion related to citizenship and mass surveillance.  The events are open to the public and will be streamed live online. More information is available on the conference website .
