Parking Permit Information

Students who wish to park a vehicle on campus must obtain a student parking permit by registering their motor vehicle with the Department of Campus Safety. The student parking permit fee for 2017-2018 is $270.  Pro-rated, one semester rates are also available.

Registration for student parking permits is online through August 18. Students should visit the Campus Safety web page at gustavus.edu/safety/permits to complete the registration process.  Students will need their Gustavus email username and password and their vehicle information (license plate, make, color) to register.  Permit decals will be delivered to the students’ campus mailboxes by August 25th for them to pick up during Orientation/move-in.  Permits will be charged to student accounts in September.

Permits will not be issued between August 18 – 28.  Registration after August 28 must be done in person at the Campus Safety office by completing a written form, with payment by personal check or charge to the student’s account. Avoid lines and paperwork by registering online!

Vehicles parked on campus without a valid parking permit, or parked in the wrong designated lot can receive parking tickets starting on the first day of classes. Students are responsible for knowing Gustavus’ campus parking and traffic regulations.

Bicycles parked on campus need to be registered with the Department of Campus Safety and display a parking permit (no charge).  Select bicycle registration through the permit registration page (you’ll need to know your bicycle’s serial number!) using one of the first two links above.

Contact the Campus Safety office 24 hours a day at 507-933-8888 with any parking related questions.
