Gustavus Forensics Team Dominates at State Competition

Way to go, Speech!! The Gustavus Forensics team won the Individual Events portion and placed 2nd Overall at the 2011 Minnesota Collegiate Forensics Association State Championships, held Feb. 19-20. Competing against 12 other schools, the Gustavus team dominated the individual events, placing first in 7 of the 11 events.

Athletics Updates

Two Gustavus coaches celebrated milestone victories in January. Women’s hockey coach Mike Carroll pick up his 250th career win against St. Ben’s on Jan. 22. On Jan. 29, women’s basketball coach Mickey Haller earned her 200th win. The Gustie women beat Concordia Moorhead 59–53. Congratulations to both coaches!

Gustavus Receives More than $450,000 in Grants

Gustavus Adolphus College recently received a $310,000 grant from the National Science Foundation to purchase a Polytec Scanning Laser Doppler Vibrometer to support the research program of Professor of Physics Tom Huber.
