Breaking the Fast
During the month of Ramadan (Oct. 4 to Nov. 3) a series of speakers shared experiences of Islam as part of a weekly evening breaking of the fast. Topics included, “Medical Practice by a Muslim,” “How Islam Has Contributed to Enlightenment, Science, and Civilization at Large,” and “Explaining the Five Pillars of Islam.”

Staying Healthy
The campus provides many resources to help students with their physical and emotional health. With the many stresses of college, students are susceptible to physical and emotional illness. For information to help keep your child healthy, including the on-campus Health Service, the Counseling Center, recognizing emotional stress, and mental illness, go to Health.
Residence Halls Closed During Break
The halls are closed during the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Spring Break periods. Students who are not able to leave campus for the breaks due to distance may be housed on campus with permission from the Residential Life Office. Students should check with their CF. Each year around 400 students are granted permission to live off-campus, with the remaining 2,050 students residing in college-owned residence halls, apartments, or houses.
